The Universidad de las Américas
Puebla is committed to educating its
students to a high professional level,
and to bestow them the qualities of
leadership, universal ethical values,
international experience and commitment
to the progress of society. This
is achieved, in part by the work undertaken
in the three schools, comprising
a wide range of academic disciplines
which enhance our students’ interdisciplanary
education: Sciences and
Engineering School; Social Sciences,
Arts and Humanities School; and Bussiness
and Economics School.
One of the challenges of the short term
consists on the imminent creation of the
School of Health Sciences, which will
include medicine, dental medicine and
nursing programs.
The academic programs offered by the
UDLA are in the forefront of the education
sector and each aims to reflect the
most advanced status in its particular
area, both nationally and internationally.
When the UDLA designs and establishes
its courses, it not only calls upon its
own internal experts, but also upon specialists
from outside the University who
are conversant with the latest trends in their particular field.
The UDLA’s academic programs provide
an appropriate balance between
theory and practice, which encourages
development of critical and creative
thinking. At the same time, students
are encouraged to take a multicultural
view and are shown the effect of information
technology, without the UDLA
ever abandoning its commitment to
society. This is how the UDLA strives
to provide a complete and humanist
education.
